There we were, standing in gorgeous light that made her hair glow like none other. She looked like she was a princess, standing there with the most perfect, sought after hair. We were at Usery Mountain Park and things were all going so well until the mistake was made when I asked her to rotate the other direction so the light would shine off her gorgeous hair. That’s when it happened… She screamed and I didn’t know what to say or do because I could not believe it. A cactus had literally jumped onto her arm. She was so gorgeous it wanted to be like her too. That is when we discovered that jumping Cholla’s were apparently a thing.
Thankfully only one had jumped out on her. I have read, now that I know they exist, that sometimes several can jump on you at one time. Even though it may have been traumatic for her, never once did she stop looking gorgeous the whole way through the process. She was such a trooper as we braved our way off the “technical” path that we definlity should have stuck too. But oh my goodness I think the pictures were definitely well worth it!! Even though it might have been a little bit painful, Madison was such a trooper through it all and showed that she is not only a gorgeous young women, but a strong tough girl as well.
This upcoming fall, Madison will be a junior at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. She is a stud right outfielder on their softball team. She helped their team make it all the way to the conference final game by catching the final out that secured their spot. While she is busy with softball, she is studying Child Life Education with the hope to make a difference in children’s lives while working in a hospital. Her dream job would be to help families cope with stress while dealing with difficult times in the hospital. She wants to be a light to the lives of both the children and families during their dark times spent in the hospital. How amazing is that?! If you have never met Maddison, she has not only the best, most sought after hair around, but she also has the sweetest heart as you can see. She is a gorgeous, strong, wonderful young lady and it was such a privilege to get to take her photos this last week.
